Kern River Pipe Bridge

2013 started off as an exciting year with the fabrication and installment of a pipe bridge that measured 168′ long, 12′ wide and 12′ high, which crossed the Kern River near Gordon’s Ferry.  The project consisted of:

  • Fabrication of the bridge in 3 sections; two 59-foot long sections and one 50-foot long section
  • Fabrication of stainless steel containment duct to contain fluid leaks
  • Fabrication of 10-inch steam lines that cross bridge
  • Shipping of bridge to installation site
  • Installation of 8 piping systems across the bridge (2 steam, 6 production)
  • Installation of 4 CIDH piers
  • Spliced bridge sections and steam lines
  • Placed bridge on CIDH piers
  • Installed containment duct and production lines
  • Install outboard pipe supports
  • 100% incident free project with over 9,000 recorded manhours
